Whether exploring new dimensions, stalking behind a serial killer, or raising her sword against an unseen foe, Mary’s mind never stops. There’s always one more lurking idea, niggling at her subconscious to get out. Sometimes characters are whispering in her ear as she tries to catch up on some much-needed sleep. They can also be found pacing behind her office chair, stopping now and then to lean over her shoulder and demand she add one thing or another. Worlds come alive in her imagination, whether it be driving down the street, washing dishes, or on the edge of slumber.
One genre isn’t enough to hold her interest. A reader of a variety of books, from romance, to edge of your seat thrillers, and everything between, she refuses to conform. Although, she respects anyone’s wishes to stick with one kind of book. Therefore, she has created pen names, so that if you prefer to be taken away to worlds unknown, where a beautiful girl/handsome man falls in love with a gorgeous hunk (that may or may not shift into something else), you will never find yourself diving into some tragedy of murder and mayhem.
You may know her as Mary Cook, M.L. Cook, or Lynn Daniels. Regardless of the name she uses to create new worlds for you to explore, she is always pounding away at her keyboard to supply you with her latest endeavor. (Pst...Another genre and pen name may soon make itself known.)
Mary is a woman who has certainly had her own share of tragedy, and finds release in the form of writing. She strives to bring to light the fundamental right that each person should be allowed to live their own life, without interference from narrow minded individuals. Sorry if I’ve offended anyone (no I’m not really). Different characters come alive in her books. There’s the occasional LGBTQ encounter, someone who has tried to find acceptance, finds love. The throw away children of our society find happy homes in the pages of her books. There are people who have overcome differences and find themselves united with someone who was previously considered an enemy.
Dive in and see if you can find your own happy spot. If there’s something you would love to see included in a book, or a story you would like to see brought to light, feel free to drop me a line. I’m always happy to hear from you! ~Mary
